Robert Richard-Snipes, CRSW

Robert Richard-Snipes MCD, CRSW, is a NH transplant from Norfolk, Virginia by way of UNH and family ties. Earning his Bachelors in Political Science and Women’s Studies and his Master’s in Community Development Rob continues to strive to impact the most vulnerable lives in the community in which he lives.  Social justice, harm reduction, and combating stigma is at the core of Rob’s work. Previously working at SOS Recovery Community Organization, Rob found his passion for recovery, helping those experiencing homelessness, and community development.

Rob entered recovery in 2017 and has utilized a multitude of Harm Reduction practices in order to maintain his wellness. He often talks about the intersectionality of race and recovery that left him out of many traditional recovery circles while continuing to break down those barriers that burden many Queer, Black individuals looking for recovery.

Rob is currently a Housing Case Manager at Families in Transition where he utilizes Housing First practices in order to support individuals in maintaining or finding permanent housing. Rob continues to utilize the principles of Harm Reduction daily while helping those looking to find stability in their lives. Rob has also volunteered time sitting on the New Futures AUD/SUD Policy Committee and the board of Infinity Peer Support in Rochester, NH. Rob has also had the honor to received the 2022 BLM Seacoast Excellence Award. In 2026 Rob was awarded the Arthur Woodard Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion due to his efforts in the recovery community.
