Karvin’s journey with SOS comes full circle. After first engaging with SOS as a client, then as a volunteer, and now serving as staff, he brings powerful lived experience to his role. Having utilized SOS while navigating drug court, Karvin shows up unapologetically as a peer, someone who truly understands what it takes to make that first step toward change and is committed to walking alongside others as they do the same.

Karvin is passionate about supporting all populations, with interests in parenting, fathers’ support, SMART Recovery, and justice-involved individuals. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, he brings authenticity, empathy, and encouragement into every space he enters.

He is especially proud to be graduating from drug court in March and continuing into continuous care, a milestone he credits SOS with helping make possible. Karvin is also working toward his CRSW and is currently completing training in the Nurturing Parenting Program and SMART Recovery Trainer certification.

Outside of work, Karvin enjoys playing Mortal Kombat, watching movies that help him recharge (Face/Off is his favorite), and spreading positivity wherever he goes. As he puts it best: “I’m that dude to make you smile.”
